Upcoming Second World War game Battlefield V has teased its new battle royale mode in its latest trailer, which also showed off some of the new locations in the game.

The Electronic Arts (EA) game used its latest trailer to show off the new Rotterdam map, where players will be immersed in the battle for the city during the war.

As well as showing the enhanced environment destruction that will be part of the game, the final moments of the trailer also included a glimpse of the new battle royale mode.

The clip shows smoke and fire gradually closing the space on a map – a tool commonly used in battle royale games to force players closer together and into combat with one another.

Driven by the success of games such as Fortnite, many established franchises such as Battlefield are not choosing to incorporate their own versions of the last player standing mode into their own game.

Rival shooter series Call Of Duty is also introducing a battle royale mode – which will appear in its new Black Ops 4 game later this year.

Battlefield V is out on October 19.
