Xbox teases new hardware to be unveiled next month
Microsoft has revealed it will be at the Gamescom trade show in Germany with ‘all-new hardware and accessories’.
Xbox has teased a hardware announcement for the end of next month, confirming it will appear at the Gamescom trade show with “all-new hardware and accessories”.
The gaming giant said during the E3 gaming convention in June that it was already working on the next version of the Xbox console, however it is not expected to be the hardware shown off at Gamescom in Germany at the end of August.
In a blog post, the company said it would use a special event during the trade show to reveal “lots of news, all-new Xbox hardware and accessories, and features on upcoming titles that we can’t wait to tell you more about and perhaps even a few surprises”.
Reports in the US suggest the new hardware will, in fact, be an updated version of the Xbox Elite controller – the high-end, customisable controller aimed at the more dedicated video games enthusiast.
The controller has proven popular with gamers since it was first unveiled in 2015.
Xbox also confirmed it will have 25 games playable on its booth at Gamescom, which takes place in Cologne at the end of August, and will be the first time European players will have the opportunity to try out recently announced titles such as racing game Forza Horizon 4, which is set in the UK.
