A headphone-style ear acupressure device that claims to reduce stress and improve sleep has smashed its fundraising target on Kickstarter.

NIRVANA is a personal ear-massaging device that uses pins to stimulate the vagus nerve through the ear, which it claims can promote relaxation and soothe symptoms of insomnia.

A user can choose between four modes on the device: for meditation, to improve energy, to promote relaxation, or for sleep. The idea is that by massaging the ear at different points, numerous health benefits can be promoted.

With 34 days to go, the company has beaten its $20,000 USD (approximately £14,000) fundraising goal for the device by over £1,000.

The scheduled delivery of products to Kickstarter backers is set for August 2018, and it is planned for the product to be available to the public by October 2018.

The product is set to be available to the public for $298 (approximately £210).
