Watch giant Tag Heuer has unveiled the world’s most expensive Android smartwatch – one that comes covered in diamonds.

The Swiss luxury watchmaker has been in the smartwatch business for some time, but the Tag Heuer Connected Modular Full Diamonds range is quite a step up on the wearable ladder.

Housing an Intel Atom Z34XX processor, the new diamond-laden wearable runs on Google’s Android Wear platform, and comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen.

It also contains a range of sensors, including an accelerometer and gyroscope, as well as a haptics engine for vibration feedback for notifications.

Overall the watch contains 589 VVS baguette size diamonds, a total of 23.35 carats.

At £130,000, it suddenly makes the solid gold Apple Watch Edition, which started at £8,000 when it was first released, look like a bargain.

Unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie watch show in Geneva, otherwise known as SIHH, the watch is made out of 18K polished white gold.

All of which goes some way to explaining the huge price tag.

Thankfully it is water resistant to 50 metres, and even comes with a Tag Heuer companion app to help those users who may not have had a smartwatch before.
