The station was put up for sale after its last remaining officers were relocated to Aldridge fire station earlier this year.

It had been closed to the public for over a decade and currently, the nearest police station accessible to the public is on Bloxwich High Street.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said the sale of Aldridge Police Station was a consequence of ‘reckless funding failure’ by the previous government.

Property Consultant Lambert Smith Hampton is overseeing the sale of the property, and no guide price has been provided.

The station is listed as being in a prime location, with excellent transport links and offers an opportunity for a range of alternative uses.

In nearby Brownhills, the former police station was demolished and replaced with a McDonald’s Drive Thru branch.

The Chester Road North facility closed in 2014 to save costs and stood empty before it was demolished.

But McDonald’s has confirmed this week that it has no current plans to build on the site of the Aldridge Police Station.
