Councillors to scrutinise Black Country housing plan amid green belt fears
Councillors are set to scrutinise elements of a major housing strategy which will see more than 70,000 homes built in the Black Country.
The Black Country Plan – which sets out housing need in the area – states the homes are needed by 2039 in order to keep up with demand.
But the proposals, which are out for public consultation, have been criticised by residents over the potential use of green belt land for housing.
Now members of Dudley Council's scrutiny committee are set to examine the plans in relation to transport and other infrastructure requirements.
The meeting will take place on September 1.
