Marco Longhi, MP for Dudley North, has urged residents to take part in Dudley Council's consultation over plans to regenerate Castle Hill.

Three projects are being mooted to improve the area which are revamping Dudley Zoo, building a new university and improving footpaths.

A total of £25million has been provided by the Government to fund the regeneration plans which Mr Longhi helped to secure.

He said: "I really want to help bring real change to Dudley, so I am delighted with the £25 million allocated by the Government.

"For us to get this right, we need feedback from the local community – we must be open to new ideas and ensure whatever project is agreed benefits the whole community.

"I want to make it clear that there are several proposals for the Castle Hill area, but this is the gateway into Dudley so we must get it right.

"I invite everyone to get involved as this huge investment has the potential to leave a really positive legacy for future generations.

"We have already seen shovels in the ground for the new metro, new leisure centre and Institute of Technology – these regeneration plans must be complimentary.

"We should rule nothing out and be led by the needs and wants of the community"
