Apartments planned for former Yorkshire Bank building in Dudley
Plans have been lodged with council bosses to build homes in a former Dudley town centre bank.
The proposals would see the former Yorkshire Bank four-storey building, in Wolverhampton Street, turned into six apartments, if given the green light.
It would include one two-bedroom and five one-bedroom self-contained apartments on the first, second and third floor of the building. The owner of the building intends for the existing ground floor customer reception and office accommodation to remain as that use.
The building has been empty since the Yorkshire Bank left in June 2018.
A design and access statement, submitted with the plans, said: "The redevelopment of these now redundant floors of this building into residential development is considered appropriate in its location and use.
"The proposal will provide much-needed residential accommodation within the town centre, reinforcing and strengthening regeneration and community."
Dudley Council will make a decision on the plans in the coming months.
