Housing rents rise three per cent in West Midlands in 12 months
Housing rent went up by an average three per cent in the West Midlands over the last year, a new report has found.
The rise made it the second highest of any region in England according to leading lettings management platform Howsy.
Across the nation as a whole, the cost of renting edged up 0.9 per cent in the last 12 months.
The largest increase has been in Yorkshire and the Humber with a 5.1 per cent jump, while the North East was the only region to have seen a decline at 1.1 per cent.
Founder and chief executive of Howsy, Calum Brannan, said: "The change in the cost of renting on a regional basis in the last 12 months alone highlights how diverse the rental market is and how fluctuations in stock levels and tenant demand can make a big difference between one area and the next."
