Bargain homes up for grabs in the Black Country - for as low as £14,000
Fancy a new DIY project? Bargain homes are up for grabs in the Black Country – with one going under the hammer for just £14,000.
An auction takes place on Wednesday with a total of 150 lots to be sold to the highest bidder.
Most will require some serious elbow grease and a huge amount of imagination to bring them back to their former glories.
But, as countless reality TV shows prove, it can be done – and budding property developers are urged to move quick to be in with a chance of snapping up some absolute steals on offer.
One home in New John Street, Halesowen could go for as little as £14,000.
It has two bedrooms, a back garden, a gas fired central heating system and double glazed windows – but would need a fair amount of refurbishment work.
Another home - in Long Lane, Halesowen - has a guide price of between £19,000 and £24,000.
The mid-terraced property has three bedrooms, two reception rooms and double glazing.
And a two-bedroom semi detached home in Cressett Lane, Brierley Hill, is also on offer for a guide price of £25,000.
It has recently been refurbished and benefits from a gas fired central heating system and double glazing.
The auction takes place at Aston Villa FC and bosses at organisers SDL expect to attract a fair bit of attention.
Andrew Parker, managing director and auctioneer at the firm, said: “We have our biggest October auction catalogue to date for our auction next week.
“Some of the lots have already received high levels of interest with dozens of people attending many of our viewings.
“We’re confident this excitement will continue in the auction room where we will see some competitive bidding from our bidders.
“The guide prices for the lots on offer range from only a nil reserve right up to £1.1m so we really do have something for all buyers including residential investment properties which require a full refurbishment through to sizeable commercial premises with existing tenants in place.”
Other properties, this time in Dudley, also up for grabs on Wednesday include an end terraced house in Corser Street starting at £30,000, which has three bedrooms and a front and back garden.
A two-bedroom house in Gammage Street, which boasts two bedrooms, a driveway and gardens, could go for as little as £35,000.
And a semi-detached home with off-road parking, three bedrooms, front and back gardens and two reception rooms in Littleworth Avenue has a guide price of £44,000 to £48,000.
The property has gas fired central heating but is in need of refurbishment.
