Proposal for Great Barr Hall met with criticism
A scheme to revamp Great Barr Hall and build dozens of new homes could make traffic worse, put extra demand on nearby schools, and block residents' scenic views, a public meeting was told.

Around 40 people aired their views over the project to transform the site of the hall at a meeting last night.
Developers BCG Lakes and Lapworth Architects want to convert the derelict hall, which has stood empty on the Walsall-Sandwell border since 1978, into a hotel and conference venue, along with 57 homes.
But some opposition has formed against the scheme, claiming the plans could damage greenbelt land.
The meeting, organised by UKIP activists, was held at Great Barr Methodist Church, in Sundial Lane, to air views.
