Walsall pub poised to be turned into flats
An empty pub which sits on a main gateway into Walsall town centre is poised to be converted into homes – the latest in a series of boozers to be lost for redevelopment.

The Hatherton Arms has been earmarked for conversion and an extension to create apartments and flats.
Large billboards will also be removed during the regeneration of the site at the corner of Butts Road and Lichfield Street.
Members of Walsall Council's planning committee are being recommended to grant permission for the project.
It comes as a campaign is being launched to give council chiefs special powers to save Walsall's pub industry.
