Villagers have voted against building 19 affordable homes on greenbelt land in Pattingham by more than four to one in a poll.

The vote, held yesterday, was prompted by South Staffordshire Housing Association's proposals to build homes in Hall End Lane.
The question posed to villagers was 'Should we build social housing on protected agricultural green belt land in Pattingham?'
Rob Lines, chairman of the campaign group opposed to development, said: "This is a sizeable majority, based on similar turnouts for general elections."
