A landmark former tap-making factory site in Wolverhampton has been put up for sale – after plans for almost 100 homes were given the go ahead.

The former Armitage Shanks site, off Showell Road, in Bushbury, has been put on the market by Ideal Standard Plumbing Ltd.

The tap factory closed in 2007 with the loss of 210 jobs. Now owners are trying to attract housing developers to transform the site, after planning bosses at Wolverhampton City Council granted outline planning permission for 92 homes.

Ideal Standard Plumbing spokeswoman Jenny Smith said the company would not disclose the sale price.
