Councillor Michael Coulson, who gained the Bloxwich West seat from the Conservatives in May last year, has been suspended from the party pending an inquiry.

Councillor Coulson said the terms of his suspension meant he could not talk about the facts behind the case, but he was confident he would be exonerated shortly.
"I have done nothing wrong," he said. "The principles I care about are fairness, equality, and diversity, and treating my opponents with respected, whether I am being opposed inside the party or outside."
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Labour said the party did not comment on individual membership issues.
