It is part of easing measures at the authority, in line with the Government's gradual lifting of the coronavirus lockdown.

Dudley Council Plus, in Castle Street, is now open between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, to offer people essential face-to-face contact with a limited number of staff.

Measures are in place at the centre for social distancing and people are asked to wear face masks or coverings.

More Covid-19 coverage:

Face-to-face services include scanning and receiving evidence, right to buy housing applications, returning keys, tenancy terminations, emergency homelessness and others which cannot be done via any other means.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member responsible for Dudley Council Plus, said: "In line with the Government’s easing of lockdown we are starting to open Dudley Council Plus for limited essential face-to-face visits only.

"There are many other ways people can contact the council about a range of services, which have proven extremely popular while they have been running throughout lockdown. This includes email, telephone, online forms, the council app, social media and many more."

Payment kiosks, public access computers, specialist council tax and benefits consultations and services which are available in other ways, will not be available in the centre.
