The Longbridge headquartered firm, which is owned by Chinese state owned enterprise SAIC, sold 81,536 units in addition to being ranked 10th in terms of total UK vehicle registrations for the first time.
The company's total market share was 4.18% with 27.2% of all MG sales being electric vehicles, according to sales information released by Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) this week.
"Last year saw MG make encouraging progress, with new and current products, like the MG4 EV, both performing well with business and private customers," said Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director for MG Motor UK.
"MG will continue to underline its reputation for delivering excellent all-round value in the UK marketplace, whilst always introducing new models and technology. We will also support customers by offering a choice of affordable petrol, advanced hybrid and electric vehicles."
The firm's MG4 EV hatchback was the UK’s 4th best selling electric vehicle and was the 2nd best selling model with private buyers.
Additionally, MG HS SUV models secured 30,207 sales and was the 8th best selling car in the UK. Other strong performers for the marque included an all-new supermini, the MG3 Hybrid+, which achieved over 6,000 sales after its launch in Spring 2024.
In addition to introducing an all-new HS SUV and the MG3 Hybrid+, MG Motor UK also launched the ZS Hybrid+ (a compact SUV) as well as the Cyberster, a stylish EV two-seat convertible GT with the dramatic exterior created at the company’s Marylebone Design Studio.
