Skoda adds Sportline trim to Octavia range

Sporty-looking package blends good equipment levels with dynamic styling additions

Skoda has added a new SportLine trim to its Octavia range, following on from the Kodiaq, Karoq and Superb models already given the specification level.

SportLine trim mirrors other ‘line’ specs across the industry – such as Ford’s ST-Line, Volkswagen’s R-Line or Audi’s S line. It’s intended to provide some of the glamour of halo performance models but without the associated increase in running costs.

To that end, the SportLine Octavia is offered with a range of visual improvements to give a sporty edge over its siblings. Offered on both Hatch and Estate models, the SportLine adds a black design package bringing gloss black trim to the front spoiler, grille, door mirrors and rear diffuser. Hatch models also gain a gloss black rear spoiler.

In addition, 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in black with silver detailing, and all models get a full complement of LEDs up front with LED headlights, foglights and daytime running lights.

SportLine trim builds on the Octavia’s mid-spec SE grade, but adds a few extra tidbits of equipment. The high-end Amundsen infotainment system is added, bringing an 8-inch touchscreen and integrated Wifi. There are also sports seats, a black headlining and three-spoke leather steering wheel.

Two engines are on offer, both with 148bhp. Customers may choose from a 1.5-litre petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel. Both can be specified with Skoda’s seven-speed DSG gearbox, while the petrol can also be paired to a six-speed manual.

Order books for the new SportLine are open now, and pricing starts from £23,870. First deliveries are expected in April.
