Toyota increases availability of hybrids in RAV4 line-up for 2018
Engines will be available with both front- and all-wheel drive
Toyota’s popular RAV4 will be available with a hybrid powerplant for every variant and trim level next year.
The RAV4 hybrid currently accounts for two-thirds of UK sales of the compact SUV, which is why Toyota has responded by increasing the availability of the low-emissions powertrain across the range.
The specification structure and available option packs have also been revised, while more colour choices have been added.
Hybrid power will now be available across all model grades, with Icon and Icon Tech featuring a front-wheel-drive system, while higher Design and Excel versions can be specified with an all-wheel-drive powertrain.
A 2.0-litre diesel engine is still available, as is a 2.0-litre petrol.
The entry-level RAV4 now benefits from a variety of standard features, including a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera. Higher-grade Icon Tech adds to this with satellite navigation and additional connectivity features.
Design models now ride on 18-inch black alloy wheels, and come with LED headlights and a leather interior.
Top-of-the-range Excel cars gain black, 10-spoke alloy wheels and matching black door mirror casings. Additional functions are added to the multimedia systems, such as voice recognition and 3D maps, while blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert contribute to a variety of safety functions.
An all-new colour has been added for the 2018 RAV4 too, in the form of Tokyo Red.
Prices for the 2018 RAV4 start at £27,450 for a 2.0-litre diesel-powered car in Icon specification, topping out at £34,985 for the hybrid in Excel trim.
The new Toyota RAV4 will go on sale from October 1.
