BMW reveals limited-edition M5-inspired bicycle

Special-edition bike features carbon fibre components

BMW has unveiled a limited-edition bicycle — inspired by the new M5 super-saloon.

The M Bike Limited Carbon Edition features a hydro-formed aluminium frame, with carbon fibre being used elsewhere on the bike.

The forks, seat posts and spacers on the two-wheeled BMW are all made from the premium material.

Also taken from the M5 road car is a Marina Bay Blue Metallic paint finish.

Featured on the bike are Continental tyres and Shimano brake discs, which BMW says were chosen for “maximum safety”.

One thing the bike doesn’t share with the BMW M5 is its price tag. While the road car costs from €117,900 (circa. £108k), the bicycle retails at €1,400 (circa. £1,230).

It’s not the first time the German manufacturer has released a bike alongside a new car. Last year, two special edition bicycles were produced.

The Cruise M Bike was launched with the BMW M2 coupe, while an i8 supercar-matching Cruise e-Bike was released.

The BMW M Bike Limited Carbon Edition is now available in Germany through selected BMW dealers. UK pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed.

Production is limited to 500 globally, each coming with a ‘Limited Carbon Edition’ badge and a certificate of authenticity.
