The waterway has been dredged between locks 13 at Stourbridge and two in Wordsley by the Canal and River Trust as part of its annual maintenance programme, in order for essential repairs to be made to several of the lock gates along the route.
The work started on January 9, and is set to continue until March 17.
Gates at locks two, three, six and 13 are also being replaced.
A spokesman for the Canal & River Trust said: "We are going to be holding an open day at lock three on Sunday, March 12 between 10am and 4pm where visitors will be able to walk down into the lock and talk to the team about the engineering works."
