Online casino to create hundreds of jobs in the Black Country
Hundreds of jobs will be created at an online casino and gaming developer in the Black Country as it looks to expand.
Intouch is launching a recruitment drive for 200 employees in the next 12 months.
Bosses of the company, based in Halesowen, expect it to double in size in the next two years and said it was 'committed' to the town.
Ward councillors welcomed the move because 'more jobs are needed' and it would help Halesowen to 'thrive'.
Managing Director of Intouch Games Limited, Simon Wilson said: "Currently we employ a work force of 200 and we will be doubling this over the next 12 -18 months. These jobs we are creating are all highly skilled IT jobs in all aspects of programing and design. I doubt there is any company in the Midlands creating as many skilled jobs as we are."
He added the company was committed to Halesowen as it was part of the community and was one of the town's biggest employers.
Intouch develops online and mobile casino games and own casino brands mFortune and PocketWin.
It has enjoyed a bumper year, and in the last 18 months has increased its workforce by 228 per cent - more than double.
The company relocated from its former premises in Stourbridge last year to expand its workforce.
Intouch was named by The London Stock Exchange Group as one of 1,000 companies to inspire Britain last year.
The majority of jobs up for grabs will be for computer programmers and graphic designers. The recruitment drive will be launched in 2017.
Harriet Grant, HR Manager at mFortune, said: "We are expecting to double in size again in the next 24 months, and the opportunities are endless.
"From computer programming and graphic design, to marketing and customer service, we're looking for people who are not only great at what they do, but dynamic and enthusiastic. We want people with bags of initiative to join us on this exciting journey."
Councillor Alan Taylor, for Halesowen South, said: "The company are increasing in size, and are giving employment to local people, which is nothing but good news. It is great for the town.
"We will get more people in jobs in Halesowen, which will help the town to become more thriving."
He added: "I think there is nothing wrong with gambling providing it is done right."
The company is located at Fountain House in Great Cornbow.
Company mFortune stepped in this year to save Halesowen's Christmas lights and donated more than £3,000 for them to be switched on following council cuts.
