Model picked as bridal show host

A model and actor with links to Wolverhampton has been picked to host Asian Bride Live later this month which attracts thousands of people.

Kiran Rai, formerly of Dunstall Hill, recently was host at India Fashion Week alongside Chelsea Singh from Big Brother.

Now Mr Rai has been picked to host at the Asian Bride Live event being held at Olympia, Earl's Court, London, on November 19 and 20.

The event features 300 expert wedding suppliers in one place and bridal fashion catwalk shows throughout each day bringing in thousands of visitors and it is due to arrive in Birmingham in January at the NEC.

Rai said: "I am excited that my career is going well."

Rai will be seen presenting around the arena on the 19th and 20th in Olympia.

The Nottingham born model is known for his hard work and travelling around the UK helping students pursue there dreams while launching a magazine called ' Kings and Queens '.

Kiran has starred in a one-man West End play, Good Things Happen to Good People, at London's Soho Theatre.

It was based on a breakdown Kiran had in his youth, living in a hostel, and the actor wants to inspire others with his life story.

Earlier this year Kiran stood outside Waterloo station in London for four weeks trying to raise money for a project of his own film and raised £15,000.

He said: "I used to be wild which is why I moved around in so many cities. I wanted to get away from Nottingham, it was hard for me to pursue anything when my negative friends were around me."

Asian Bride Live comes to the NEC in Birmingham on January 21 and 22.

Kiran is represented by IC Talent Agency. The London-based agency has offices in Dubai and Los Angeles and represents celebrities like Jackson 5, Tina Turner and Diana Ross.
