Are these the best fish and chips in the country?
A Black Country chippy has seen off the competition to be named the best in the Midlands.
Judges were wowed by the quality of the fish and chips on offer at Oldswinford Fish and Chips in Stourbridge.
It was crowned as the top chippy in the Midlands category of the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year and will now go up against other regional winners to try and secure the national prize.
As well as the quality of their food, the Hagley Road chippy was also judged in a range of other areas including the menu, customer experience and staff training.
Co-owner Zach Ioannou said: "Our shop has been in our family for over 39 years, but we re-branded to Oldswinford Fish and Chips in 2012 when my brother John and I took over. We've since established a loyal customer base but competition around here is unbelievable.
"Having unsuccessfully entered this award category three years ago, reaching the top 10 (nationally) this year comes as long-awaited recognition – it's unbelievable."
