Kashmir Meat & Poultry in Wednesbury Road was destroyed after an attacker, who is still on the loose, threw two fire bombs at a man inside the shop.

Police said the attack was not racially or religiously motivated.

They still want to trace a man who was seen on CCTV buying fuel in a jerry can at a nearby petrol station just 40 minutes before.

How the inside of the shop was left looking

Zalika Bibi, the sister-in-law of the owner, Jamil Hussain, and whose husband had the petrol bombs thrown at him, told the Express & Star that it will not reopen.

She said: "There's no chance it will reopen. Obviously we cannot get the shop back."

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "There have been no arrests but the investigation is on-going.

"It's worth mentioning that the latest inquiries suggest that, contrary to media and social media speculation, the incident was not a racially or religiously motivated hate crime."

An online campaign, which was set up to support Mr Hussain, has raised £1,256 so far.

Anyone with information which could help catch the fire bomber is asked to call the Violent Crime Team at Wednesfield Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
