Euro Shop workers face charges over 68,000 cigarettes
A man and a woman who run a city shop that sells European products are facing 27 charges between them, including one for possession of more than 68,000 dodgy cigarettes.
Arkani Muradi, 35, and Soma Jasim, 29, both from Highfield Road, Great Barr, who run Euro Shop in Newhampton Road, Wolverhampton, pleaded not guilty to all charges relating to the shop.
The pair both face 14 charges for unauthorised use of a trademark in relation to goods for sale or distribution, four of engaging in unfair commercial practice, five charges of possession of criminal property and one of participating in a fraudulent business.
Muradi also faces an additional three charges of unauthorised use of a trademark.
The charges relate to police raids on the store in April, July and November 2015 as well as June and August 2014.
More than 11kg of tobacco and 113 bottles of spirits were also seized across the course of the raids.
A trial date has been set for June 13 next year, and a preparation hearing will take place on September 28.
