Flip Out trampoline centre springs to life in Oldbury
Offering a 30-metre tumble track, pinball trampolines, gladiator beams, foam pits and high-low flip boxes, families won't be short of things to do at a new activity centre in Oldbury.
People young and old are being encouraged to have a tumble at Flip Out, which has opened its doors on Churchbridge.
The facility has been created inside a disused warehouse, creating 50 jobs.
The first customers came to test the facilities at the weekend and its official launch day was yesterday.
Popularity of trampoline activity centres has soared over the last few years, with several opening across the Black Country.
Owner Izzy Hussain believes the centre offers something different in the area.
Its close proximity to the M5 motorway also means it is within easy reach of Birmingham.
Mr Hussain said: "I've been working on it for a long time now, I started on it last year.
"I've been in Sandwell for a while, I had another small business and I thought there was a need for it in the area, there's not a lot for people to do for young people and adults and that they needed something like this."
Mr Hussain also talked up the health benefits of the attraction.
He said: "Everyone has iPads, phones and Playstations now and this is a different physical activity that people can go out and enjoy.
"There is no age restriction, we have our area for under fives and an area where adults can enjoy themselves."
The firm was given the go-ahead to move to Oldbury after planners at Sandwell Council gave the scheme the thumbs up back in April. The centre also features party zones and a cafe.
The growing company recently opened a centre in Stone, Staffordshire, and has similar attractions in Stoke and Bristol. Others are also planned for London and Manchester.
