Grandson of rottweiler attack victim relieved after dogs taken off streets
The grandson of an 82-year-old woman who was savaged by two dogs in the Black Country said she is 'relieved' they have been taken off the streets.
The Rottweilers which attacked Margaret Langford in Ivy Road, Tipton, will be destroyed following a ruling by magistrates.
The grandmother spent five days in hospital after the terrifying attack in Ivy Road in May.
Grandson Jack Langford said he is hopeful she will now be able to put the ordeal behind her.
He said: "We are pleased these dangerous dogs have now been taken off the streets and can't cause further injury to anyone else. That was the result we were after.
"It's a tough call - it's somebody's family pet - but ultimately it's the right one.
"Gran is relieved. Since it happened she hasn't been the same. She hasn't been sleeping properly, she has been waking up and having panic attacks, but hopefully this will bring her some reassurance."
