Jake goes ape for 8ft garden gorilla
When decorating a garden, some may opt for pretty pots and planters while others may prefer a gnome – but Jake Pearson likes to do things a bit differently.
And that is certainly the case with his latest arrival, an 8ft gorilla, which has had a few curtains twitching in the Dudley street where he lives.
The model has taken pride of place on his driveway. Jake has become a collector of the large-scale models and is always looking for additions.
It started when he spotted a model dinosaur at an auction and the gorilla was bought online.
Unsurprisingly, the beasts have been turning a few heads along Pensnett Road.
He said: "The kids love it." Jake is encouraging anyone who poses for a photo with the gorilla to donate to Cancer Research after his wife Eileen died in February.
Jake said: "I ask them to just put a few pennies in the box if they have a photo with it.
"My wife battled it for five years so I try to raise a bit of money."
