Brexit: Where were the Leave hotspots in Walsall?
A ward-by-ward breakdown of the EU referendum results in Walsall reveals that in 11 areas more than 70 per cent of residents backed the Leave camp.
The figures, which were issued by Walsall Council, show that Bloxwich East was the most Eurosceptic area of the city, with 77 per cent of more than 6,000 voters opting for Leave.
Darlaston South was the second most Brexit area on 76 per cent, followed by Blakenall, Bloxwich West and Brownhills which all saw three quarters of residents voting Leave.
Other Leave strongholds were Birchills Leamore and Short Heath (both 74 per cent), Willenhall North (73 per cent), Willenhall South (72 per cent) and Rushall Shelfield (71 per cent).
Only one area of Walsall voted to Remain in the EU.
Paddock ward was the sole Remain area out of the borough's 20 council wards, with residents voting narrowly in favour of staying in the union by 51 per cent to 49 per cent.
Walsall voted overwhelmingly in favour of leaving the EU, with 67.86 per cent backing Leave and just 32.14 voting to Remain. It was the most Eurosceptic local authority area in the Black Country.
In South Staffordshire not a single ward voted to stay in the EU.
