Walsall Gala Baths opening after £1m revamp
The remodelled pools at Walsall Gala Baths were re-opening today following the centre's £1million revamp.
Swimmers were able to take their first dip following the creation of a 25m main pool and a separate teaching pool with warmer water.
It follows the opening of the new family changing village, redesigned reception area and new sauna last Saturday.
Councillor Julie Fitzpatrick, portfolio holder for community, leisure and culture said: "We have had really positive feedback about the new changing village, reception and sauna and I'm really pleased to have all the facilities at the Gala centre fully open.
"I would like to thank our customers for their understanding during the refurbishment and I'm confident their patience has been rewarded with a facility we can be really proud of."
Alongside the remodelling of the main pool, the improved facility includes a redesigned reception with enlarged seating area, a new large family-friendly unisex changing village and a new sauna.
