Wolverhampton's Shaw Road and Anchor Lane tips new opening hours revealed
Wolverhampton's two household waste and recycling centres will be operating extended opening hours one day a week throughout the summer.
From this week, Shaw Road in Bushbury will be open until 7pm on Wednesdays, while Anchor Lane in Lanesfield will open until 7pm on Thursdays.
As a result, Shaw Road is now open at weekends from 8am-4pm, Mondays and Tuesdays from 10am-4pm and Wednesdays from 10am-7pm, while Anchor Lane is open at weekends from 8am-4pm, Mondays and Fridays from 10am-4pm and Thursdays from 10am-7pm. The extended hours will operate until the end of September.
Councillor Steve Evans, cabinet member for city environment, said: "We are pleased to be able to extend the opening hours of our household waste and recycling centres until 7pm two days a week as we enter the busy summer months, a time when usage traditionally increases.
"It means our customers are now able to benefit from early opening at the weekend and late opening on Wednesday and Thursday evenings."
