Thug attacked teenager near skate park
A thug who showed no remorse after beating a teenager in a public park has been sent to a young offender's institution.
Father-of-one Jordan Marvin of East Road, Tipton, was told he had broken the law once too often and was sentenced to 12 months detention.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how Jordan, aged 18, whose current partner is pregnant with his second child, had told police officers the victim 'deserved' to get a beating during an interview.
Recorder Abigail Nixon, passing sentence, said: "You have shown absolutely no remorse for what you have done and officers even heard you saying the child you attacked got what he deserved.
"You should have known better but you did not.
"I read a long pattern of obstructive behaviour throughout your young life.
"You have made it clear you do not want to carry out unpaid work. You were offered assistance with your anger issues but you did not want that.
"Eventually you were offered one-on-one treatment with the probation service and you've reluctantly agreed to do that.
"But your motivation levels are low, you have shown no remorse, no inclination to work with the probation service and any previous help you've had with your anger issues does not seem to have worked."
Mrs Caitlyn Orchard, prosecuting, said Marvin, who had pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm, and another 16-year-old had attacked the victim near Victoria skate park on October 29.
She said the victim and his girlfriend had been having trouble with another person who was at the park but had decided to walk away after seeing a large group.
She said: "Jordan Marvin tackled him to the ground, punched him three times in the back of the head and grabbed him round the throat.
"The other teenager also stamped on his face with such force he was left with the imprint of a shoe."
The court heard the victim, who had been left with a fractured thumb, grazes and bruise, had been too afraid to return to the park since the attack.
Miss Alisha Harris, defending, said Jordan had suffered with anger issues for a long time and struggled when placed in large groups of people.
She said after completing an anger management course in 2011 he had managed to stay out of trouble for more than four years.
