Man jailed for six years for killing victim in street row

A 34-year-old man has been jailed for more than six years after admitting causing the death of a man in Kidderminster.

Anthony Jordan was assaulted during an altercation with Michael Davis in the early hours of October 12 last year in Dixon Street. Mr Jordan, who was from Kidderminster, collapsed during the incident and was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he died four months later, aged 29.

Davis, of Queen Elizabeth Road, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday and was jailed for six years and three months.

Detective Sergeant Mark Wilding, of West Mercia Police, said: "This tragic incident has robbed a family of a much-loved young man who had his whole life ahead of him and the sentence follows a detailed and thorough investigation by West Mercia Police."
