'Chilling' knife attack left man dead in street, murder trial hears
A man from Oldbury and a 16-year-old boy carried out a 'chilling' attack which left a Polish man dead in the street and another clinging to his life, a court heard.
Lukasz Furmanek died in just 31 seconds after he was the victim of a random act of random violence in Handsworth in May.
Mr Furmanek and his friend Radoslaw Dudek crossed the path of their 'pumped-up' knife-wielding attackers moments before they were stabbed, it was claimed.
Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds.
Mr Dudek was left clinging to life and was only saved by 'heroic' medical efforts.
Abdullah Atiqzoy, 18, of Elizabeth Crescent, Oldbury and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, both deny murder and attempted murder.

Mr John Butterfield, prosecuting, said: "What is clear is that the attack was completely unprovoked and completely unjustified. It was also extremely quick."
The trial continues.
