Marathon man completes 53rd race - and still has 37 to go
A runner completing 90 marathons in 90 days received a warm welcome when he crossed the finish line on his latest race at the Black Country Museum.
Mark Vaz has now tackled 53 marathons.
He is running for Tommy's Charity, which offers support to families who have suffered stillbirths and Katherine House Hospice in Stafford, and is aiming to raise £90,000.
The 32-year-old from Penkridge decided to take on the 90 marathon challenge as his wife Tammy has suffered seven miscarriages since 2007.
The last few hundred yards of his record-breaking run was through the Black Country Museum village and he was roared on down the final straight by visitors on Friday.
He said after crossing the finish line: "This might sound really strange, it's nice to have the record but the charities are the main focus. Records come second."
