Nathaniel Hamilton was last week jailed for 21 years for carrying out brutal attacks on the women. Ten years ago, he appeared in a TV documentary called Bad Boy charting his re-integration into society after a previous stint in prison.

He was jailed after being found guilty of attempted murder, rape and assault following a three-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. In one attack, he struck a woman across the neck with a gun after threatening to shoot her.

Hamilton also raped another woman and subjected her to a beating of such ferocity that she was left with multiple injuries and his footprint across her face.

The court heard how his latest victim was left with a perforated eardrum and severe bruising to her neck and jaw after Hamilton forced his way into her flat on November 9 last year.

While these crimes were being investigated, it emerged that Hamilton was already on police bail for making threats to kill and assaulting another woman in July 2014.

Both cases were taken up by the a specialist West Midlands Police team. The investigation was led by Dc Gaenor (correct) Comley and Pc Colin Noble.

Hamilton, who also had an address in Great Barr, lured one victim to his flat in Acacia Avenue, Yew Tree, on the Walsall-West Bromwich border and threatened her with an imitation firearm, demanding she chose which limb he should shoot off.

"This is the first successful prosecution the unit has secured for attempted murder. Hamilton is a danger to women and needed to be removed from the streets.

"He never in his wildest dreams thought these women would report him," Dc Comley said."
