Oldbury Fire Station were called to the incident in Clent Road.

The aerosols had exploded on the kitchen work surface after the homeowner had left them in direct sunlight whilst out shopping.

Oldbury firefighters tweeted this image of the blast's aftermath.

No one was injured. A dog was in the property at the time but unhurt.

The explosion caused a considerable amount of damage to the window, door and cooker as well as producing a huge bang.

Remnants of the glass window were left sprawled across the back lawn on Friday at around 2pm.

Station commander, Desmond Lloyd, said: "I would like to warn people of the damage that aerosols can cause and just how dangerous they can be if left in the sunlight."
