She drove into trouble after Karl Johnson was forced to brake sharply when she pulled out in front of him at a junction in Long Lane, Halesowen.

The victim feared her car was about to be rammed as she was tailgated by the furious 28-year-old for some distance, before being overtaking and forced to make an emergency stop on April 19, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

Father-of-three Johnson - who had a suspended prison sentence hanging over his head for possession of a machete - got out of his vehicle, threatened to strangle the woman and told her: 'You are going to die'.

He kicked her car, damaging the bodywork, as she tried unsuccessfully to drive away.

Miss Samantha Crabb, defending, conceded that Johnson was completely in the wrong.

The defendant, from Buffery Road, Dudley pleaded guilty to both using threatening words and behaviour and causing criminal damage. He was jailed for eight weeks with a further 20 weeks added to the term by the implementation of part of the suspended sentence order he had breached by committing the further offence.
