Troublemakers were seen hurling stones by the Lunt junction at Bilston

Police are investigating whether the recent attacks, during the early hours of yesterday, are linked to a previous spate of vandalism. A gang of children as young as 10 were believed to be behind eight incidents in four weeks in February and March.

West Midlands Police's Wolverhampton Partnerships Team said: "This is extremely dangerous. If you have any info call police on 101. The actions of these people pose a risk to anyone on the road.

"We are keen to identify the perpetrators as this could have resulted in serious injury - or worse.

"They need to know how reckless their actions are and consider the potential consequences.

"Anyone caught causing criminal damage can expect to be arrested and put before the courts."
