Walsall at Wembley - Selfie stars scoop £100 prize
The result may not have gone their way but Saddlers' fans Katie and Lewis Micklewright were left with something to smile about following the team's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Wembley.
The mother and son from Cheslyn Hay were thrilled to learn they had won the Express & Star's Wembley selfie competition.
Katie and husband Neil, 34, had taken five-year-old Lewis to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Bristol City for a treat as part of a 10-strong family outing. The group travelled down by coach from their local pub, The Royal Oak, Great Wyrley.
The winning picture, featuring a Saddlers 'good luck' placard, was taken before the game started.
Katie said: "It was a fab, brilliant family day - all the hype beforehand was fantastic. Neil's family have always been Walsall fans so this was a very special day.
"Lewis had handwritten 'From Lewis' on the placard. He loved every minute and really soaked up the atmosphere. His favourite part was when the footballers came out on to the pitch and he also liked the singing of the national anthem.
"The build-up was wonderful, it's just a shame the result didn't go our way."
