Darlaston Town Football Club will play league football again next season after a fundraising campaign secured its future.

The club was pulled from the league for a season after hitting financial problems.

More than £10,000 has been raised since then but bosses say they need to keep generating cash to keep the club going for future years.

Stars such as Bob Taylor, Jody Craddock, Mel Eves, Daryl Burgess, Geoff Horsfield and Don Goodman have signed up to play in a game at Darlaston Community Association in Hall Street, on August 3. The game kicks off at 2pm.

The game between Wolves and West Brom All Stars has taken months to arrange.

Club Chairman Neil Chambers said: "They have been brilliant and we felt a game against the two all stars teams was the best outcome for all concerned.

"Whilst Darlaston is predominantly a Wolves town, local towns such as Wednesbury and Tipton is predominantly Albion country so we thought it would be best for all the local fans to come and see their former heroes in action.

"Since announcing the game we have had a fantastic response and we are hopeful of a good attendance. When the organisers told me the squads for the games I was astounded at the quality in both teams.
