Amanda Hawkins disappearance: Tests on body prove inconclusive
A post mortem carried out on a body discovered in a field in Staffordshire has proved inconclusive, police have said.
The discovery was made last Tuesday on farmland off Meerash Lane, Burntwood. Police believe it is the body of missing woman Amanda Hawkins from Walsall.
Further tests will now be carried out to find out the identity and cause of death and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, Staffordshire Police say.
The 44-year-old went missing from her assisted accommodation complex on Sutton Road, Moxley, on May 30.
Police embarked on a large-scale search for Amanda, who had been reported as missing several times in the past, while her family made emotional appeals for the public's help in tracing her.
