Triple joy as students dance their way to success
It is a triple celebration for three students who have danced their way to success and passed their ballet exams.
The dancers who attend Debonair Dance Academy in Cradley Heath have been awarded for their top-to-toe hard work, after they were all awarded distinction in their Advanced Two ballet exam with the ITDA.
Jessica Williams, 20 and sisters Abigail Edmonds, 20 and Grace Edmonds, 19 all achieved more than 80 per cent in the exam.
Dance teacher and academy owner Debbie Baggott said: "I am so proud of them for what they have achieved and for setting the standard at the dance academy so high."
The girls have been dancing under Debbie's tuition since they were five and Debbie, 46, from Bluebell road in Cradley Heath added: "It is lovely to see them progress all the way through.
"They have sacrificed a lot over the years to put in the dedication needed and I am so proud of the girls, I have seen them grow up and I know how hard they have trained for this. It is wonderful news for the academy."
The girls have trained for two years for this exam and Jessica, 20, a hairdresser fromThorns Road,Quarry Bank said: "I got very emotional when we had our last ever presentation for our ballet exams.
"We are all really pleased with how well we did. I dance two nights a week and all day on a Saturday. You have to be committed but it is worth it and I love it."
Miss Williams added: "I have been dancing since I was six and I will continue to dance as a hobby and also teach classes at the academy."
Debonair Dance Academy opened in 1999 and the dance school has gone from strength to strength.
The school now has 170 pupils aged from three to 70 and teaches ballet, tap, street and freestyle. Drama classes are also held at the academy.
Debbie added: "If anyone would like to join, feel free to contact me. The more dancers the better, we are always happy to introduce more dancers."
