You could describe it as the perfect home for the growing family.

With nine bedrooms, ample grounds for the youngsters to play in, and an idyllic countryside location with easy access to good schools and the West Midlands motorway network, it could be said it is the house that has everything.

However, if you are thinking of putting in an offer on this splendid country home near Kidderminster, it might take more than the Government' s Help-to-Buy scheme to help you meet the asking price. The property is on sale for a cool £9.5 million - making it one of the most expensive ever to go on the market in the region.

The agent says it is one of the most expensive properties it has ever handled.

However, anybody in the fortunate position of being able to buy the house will certainly be getting a lot for their money. Situated amid glorious countryside in the hamlet of Ladywood, near Ombersley, the estate agents say the recently built property 'reflects the splendor of a bygone age while offering all the benefits of modern living.'

"Caulin Court is a magnificent country house which enjoys high ceilings, bespoke joinery and traditional woodwork, along with an intricate attention to detail throughout," says agent Andrew Grant.

"The grand proportions of the rooms reflect the importance of this house which surprisingly for a property of this scale very much retains its intimate family feel."

The property is entered through a large limestone portico, and the giant ornamental pool behind the rear sun lounge - which is reminiscent of the sort of thing you might expect to see in a five-star hotel - gives the property a dash of Mediterannean style.

But Mr Grant says while the property offers all the elegance of an early 19th century country house, its modern construction allows it to include the most up-to-date technology.

For example, if climbing the stairs proves to much of a chore, there is an eight-person lift giving access to all floors.

And movie buffs need never go out to the pictures again thanks to the in-house cinema with surround sound.

But it is the music system which truly is the stuff of sci-fi movies. A central music server provides automated storage for up to 5,000 CDs, and enables music to be piped into eight separate zones, including the gym and pool areas.

And even the fiery tempered Gordon Ramsay would surely be impressed by the vast kitchen, which is equipped with a bank of ovens and microwaves, both gas and electric hobs, and a number of fridges and freezers as well as a specialist wine cooler.

With no fewer than 10 bathrooms, the queue for the shower in the morning is unlikely ever to be a problem, and in the unlikely event that the three-storey property feels a little crowded, there is also a separate three-bedroom cottage.

It goes without saying, of course that there is a library and a conservatory, and the property is set within nearly 19 acres of landscaped grounds.

A raised limestone terrace runs along the western elevation of the estate, with gradual steps interspersed with grass sitting areas leading down to a lake and timber summerhouse.

"Throughout the estate yew and box hedges give architectural definition to borders and flower beds."

A high-tech heating system maintains an ambient temperature throughout the house, as well as helping to keep the heating costs down to a manageable level.

Although, of course, if you need to ask about heating costs, you probably can't afford it.
