Inquest opened on Dudley rail line death
An inquest has opened on a man found dead along a railway line near to Dudley Port station.
Kevin Morris, of Queen Street, Moxley, Wednesbury, was discovered by staff on May 6 who immediately alerted British Transport Police.
Smethwick Coroners Court heard Mr Morris, 25, had suffered multiple injuries.
He was identified by his fingerprints.
The court was told Mr Morris was single and unemployed at the time of his death.
Senior coroner for the Black Country Mr Robin Balmain adjourned the inquest to await a full report from British Transport Police.
A date for the inquest to resume has not been set.
The station was closed for more than an hour after Mr Morris' body was discovered.
Trains between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton were stopped.
