Man's body is found near river in Stourport
The body of a man has been found near the River Severn in Stourport.
A member of the public found the man's body on the river frontage, near Severn Side, on Monday morning.
Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "The body of a man was discovered near the River Severn in Stourport on Severn on Monday morning. A member of the public found the body at around 6.50am on the river frontage near Severn Side.
"The identity of deceased has not been confirmed but the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time – however enquiries are ongoing."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "“We were called by police at 6:59am to a medical emergency on Severn Side in Stourport. We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
"When crews arrived they found one patient, a man. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
