Man taken to hospital after crash near West Midland Safari Park

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash near West Midland Safari Park.

Emergency services were called to the two-car collision on Spring Grove, between Kidderminster and Bewdley, at around 1.10pm on Monday.

One of the drivers, a man, was found in a serious condition after suffering a suspected medical episode.

He was rushed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment. The Midlands Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a two-car collision on Spring Grove, near to West Midland Safari Park, at 1.12pm on Monday.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

"On arrival crews discovered one patient, a man who was the driver of the one of the cars. He was found to be in a serious condition after suffering a suspected medical episode.

"Following specialist trauma care at the scene, the man was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment. The doctor from the air ambulance and the Critical Care Paramedic from the Critical Care Car, travelled on the back of the ambulance to help continue treatment en-route to hospital.”

West Mercia Police has been approached for comment.
