Investigation launched after girl, 7, hit by car in Wolverhampton
A seven-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Wolverhampton.
The child suffered a serious head injury in the crash, which happened in Day Avenue, Wednesfield, yesterday evening.
A 29-year-old man was stopped at the scene and provided a negative roadside test for drink and drugs.
West Midlands Police have launched an investigation.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police were alerted just after 6.30pm on Friday to a collision in Day Avenue, Wednesfield, in which a seven-year-old girl was hit by a VW Golf.
She remains in hospital, a spokesman for the police confirmed.
