At last! Tettenhall Pool reopening after long-running repairs
Tettenhall Pool is set to finally open today after it was shut for 11 months while vital repairs were carried out.
Contractors for Wolverhampton Council have spent 10 weeks at the pool carrying out repairs and installing a new pump room but the pool is now ready to open to the public.
It is hoped the work will help keep the pool in use for families during the next 30 years.

As part of the work a new filtration system has been put in, around 100 metres of new pipework has been laid and the pumphouse has been extended.
Previously there were only two filtration tanks but a third has now been added.

The repair work came after a public consultation attracted a total of 3,796 responses – with 95.4 per cent voting to repair the site, rather than have an outdoor gym replace it.
Meanwhile the pool at East Park will stay closed in 2019 for underground plant work "with a view to the pool being reopened next year."
Tettenhall Regis councillor Udey Singh said: “We are delighted to see the pool finally opening so that children and families from across the city can come and enjoy it.
"As the parent of a young child myself, I know just how important this asset is to the community.”
Tettenhall Wightwick councillor Jane Stevenson added: "We have been waiting for weeks for the pool to open, and I’m so pleased that it’s finally happening.
"Tettenhall councillors never doubted the community’s strength of feeling in seeing the pool preserved."
